You took a page from my book on how to feel alive
Im sorry it couldn’t help you dear, your words aren’t the same as mine
Hinges creaking and you’re talking to silhouettes
I think im friends with yours, but I haven’t met mine yet
My ego died last night
I think I lit it on fire
Refreshing pages in my imagination
Brought it back to life
So its time to move out
Cant stay here right now
Waiting ages is quite a situation
I can’t wrap my head around
All plans for self deprecation and I can’t figure out
To make you say what I think
All my lies and exaggerations and I can’t figure out
To make you say what I think
So we’ll fix the roof and we’ll paint the walls
Pull the covers up if it gets too cold
Your inclination towards manipulation
I wish I never saw
All plans for self deprecation and I can’t figure out
To make you say what I think
All my lies and exaggerations and I can’t figure out
To make you say what I think

You're Wasting Your Time
03:38

I want it all
I’m an addict
I claim it all
Because I’m selfish
We laid it down and smoked it all
The bitter taste in my mouth was usual
You found me and you lost me
You’re wasting all of your time
You play pretend with what went wrong
And I found out that you knew it all along
Im just a bore and a know it all
Read my lips and watch me fall
You found me and you lost me
You’re wasting all of your time
Inside you always said
All of the nights that you regret
You wouldn’t change a thing now would you

Last Forever

Take off your t shirt
But take off your mask first
You play a tune written back in 06
But its not like it was when you first heard it
You wear a watch just to hold onto time
You were lost, but then again so was I
The post modern age of paper mâché
But at least we tried
I wont let you show me what ive already seen
I wont try to pull you away from your dreams
But somehow you’re still all that I need
Astronauts could see the flood from space
But I could see it coming through your face
They say I’m a nihilist for thinking it will end
If you’re reading this what was the last thing I said
I wont let you show me what ive already seen
I wont try to pull you away from your dreams
But somehow you’re still all that I need

How It Feels
03:24

We’ll storm the walls of this town
Somewhere in between the metal and the ground
We’ll be lost and delirious
So don’t take what I say serious
Oh this is how it feels
This is how it feels
Oh this is how it feels
This is how it feels
It wasn’t me who picked this fight
We’ll take the steps towards this end tonight
Behind the city where the devil sleeps
In automobiles, film and cash machines
And when she walks, behind her letters and numbers fall
And when she talks, its as if nothing was said at all
Oh this is how it feels
This is how it feels
Oh this is how it feels
This is how it feels

Parachutes

I never asked for anything that didn’t come to me
I always looked around and sat at tables politely
I let myself run quiet got in nobody’s way
And I did okay
Running round the backyard, I stumbled and I fell
Passing cars remind me of the things I never tell
Just myself all alone with this parachute I made
But mister I can’t figure out yet how to stand up straight
The irony that kills me says its all too late again
Got no car, no job yet all I seem to do is spend
And make amends with the side of me that lies behind my face
This whole hour feels out of place
You call up your dad and hear him talk just like you
And apologise for all the shit you used to do
You’d move to New York City just to know what its like
But its all too far.
I never feel it coming as you’re going away
I can recognise your bones but I can’t your own face
And I hate to try defy you with this world I know you hate
We’re like power lines or charge between two plates.
